Washington University St. Louis and The Blessing Basket Project
Location: Mohabo Madagascar
The Blessing Basket Project has expanded into Madagascar at the request of the Missouri Botanical Garden. MBG is working to save a forest near the Mohabo Commune in the southern part of the country. The Blessing Basket Project developed what it calls "prosperity wages" and pays weavers more than anyone in the world. This video shows you how students from Washington University St. Louis are studying what makes The Blessing Basket Project's financial model so successful in Madagascar.
